Deva to commence briquette production training

As part of its mandate, Deva Access has concluded plans to commence the training of women and rural youths in Nigeria on the production of biomass briquetting machines, biomass briquettes and including the business side of this.

The President of Deva, Mazi Chimaobi Agwu, explained that the objective of this are four fold, namely: Job creation, poverty alleviation, business and income generation and forest preservation.

He explained that there would be the three levels of involved. The first is for local carpenters who would be taught and given details on the production of the biomass briquetting presses. The second training would involve women and youths and incorporates training on biomass briquette production and making a business out of biomass briquettes.

The organization would be working with women groups, local governments and other NGOs to deliver the training and empowerment scheme to the locals and rural people.
